Being Girly

Once upon a time, I blew all my disposable income on purses, shoes and clothes (in that order). Then I started triathlons, and my priorities changed. It was all about bikes, bike components, bike toys, running shoes, workout clothes, nutrition, training, etc. Everything else, including maintenance, dropped in priority.

The lack of girly maintenance showed by the time Coeur d'Alene rolled around: my skin looked pretty rough, some of my toenails were black/blue/missing and my hair was an unstyled mop on my head. Now with Dave's and Rachel's wedding coming up this weekend, I had to do something. I didn't want to be in a bunch of pictures looking haggard in a dress that doesn't fit (all the dresses I wear to weddings are temporarily too big).

So, I've gotten a facial, mani/pedi and will get my hair done on Saturday before the wedding. I've also bought a couple dresses and matching shoes. Holy cows - it's expensive. In the meantime, all I can think about is how much of a power meter I could have saved up for.
